Dear creators out there: I get you. For years I worked a full time job (6am -3pm), came home and took care of kids, then streamed 8p-12a. +10-20 weekends a year at conventions. I know it's hard, I really do understand. Do what works for you, it's not the same for everyone. 💙

It's okay to skip a day! It's ok to rest! Take care of yourselves please

@alkali_layke It’s really refreshing to see other content creators or ones with more experience show this type of understanding and support for those who are struggling or just starting out. Sometimes I get stuck in the narrative of ‘if you want it there are no excuses’, grind for it.

@KaysaCat Some days my kids would go to bed late, so I'd start streaming late. Some days I would end early because I just got too tired. I hope creators go easy on themselves. I always had it on my content calendar as a visual though... and that helped

@KaysaCat @alkali_layke sometimes that narrative is kind of annoying, sometimes there's people who think their way of doing stuff is the right way of doing stuff, and it isn't

@SoyAndresT @alkali_layke It can be especially annoying around my age group (mid to late twenties), where people around me take pride in working themselves to death and say things like ‘I worked 80 hours, what’s your excuse?’ As if not prioritizing ourselves as human beings is a positive trait.

@KaysaCat @SoyAndresT I found it helpful to tell myself this is a grind "day". The grind is real, it helps you grow... but unhealthy if you look at it as everything it "always grinding". I found that if my weeks had 3-4 grind days I did great. "Bite size grind" if you will.

@alkali_layke This hit me really hard and motivated me simultaneously. Working full time and growing a brand can be a lot. Thanks for the wise and understanding words @alkali_layke. âœŒđŸŒ

@DracoCatt I believe in you! Also, the truth? It sucked. Working that hard sucked. I have a good partner who helped me through
