One of the things I'm still working through is telling people at my new job where I worked before and what my role was for most of it. It's like a slow descent as their expression changes from smiling to something like worry and then sadness. I usually nervously laugh

Where did you work? Oh How long? Oh....oh What job? Uuuuuuh... What game? ..... When did you leave? O H And then - Are you OK? and I am. Mostly? Some days are hard. Some are great. Some days I miss my team. I miss my friends. It feels like we were ripped apart.

It also is weird sometimes because we are also in slack and some days I catch myself thinking "oh I wonder how xx is" and then remember I'm not in blizzard slack. Some folks I realize I don't have a way to contact. Being remote and leaving the company was very surreal

I think that experience honestly adds to the strangeness of it all. Like there was no... goodbye. I just. Sent my email and then was gone. 16 years of my life and I just walked away. Idk. Just going through some feelings tonight.
