Idk. There's taking accountability for your actions, and then there's taking accountability for your actions because you got caught. The second one feels disingenuous.

@Songbird_HS I can only imagine that the people saying he's taking accountability are not seeing that this is from 4 years ago. Yes, people can grow and change, yes there's a bar that can be cleared, but hiding and profiting from community goodwill for 4 years is very far shy of that bar.

@Songbird_HS (obviously I do know the real reason why many people have immediately tried to stand up for him in any way possible, i'm not that naive)

@coL_Sottle Absolutely. I have always liked Orange as well. But publicly decrying your friends behavior for something that was arguably more minor than what you yourself were convicted of is just massively hypocritical.

@Songbird_HS Genuine question: do you expect players to air out their dirty laundry on Twitter? How *should* Orange have handled this, even going back to 4 years ago (other than simply not committing SA)? FTR: I agree with the hypocritical nature re:Purple. Also, I support the ban.

@AlabrelHS Yeah, good question. I think when you're a public figure there's an expectation that you be open with your audience, which is obviously awful when you want to keep anything private. I don't know where the line is. There wouldn't have been a good outcome here.

@AlabrelHS I don't think vilifying him is correct, and I'm not going to pass judgement on his character. I think we can all even understand why he kept it secret, and his statement sheds some light on the situation. It's still disappointing and he was never going to win here.

@AlabrelHS But yeah idk. I looked up to Orange as a player and always liked him as a person. This is disappointing.

@AlabrelHS I hope he grows as a person and never ever does anything like this again. But I think it's important that he grow away from this space. Framing this situation as having "made a mistake" doesn't sit well with me.

@Songbird_HS Good take, even if it doesn’t exactly answer the question. It’s so easy to sit on the sidelines on a high horse but it’s really hard to come face to face with the reality of it all. The balance between Compassion and Justice is difficult.

@AlabrelHS Shit yeah I guess I did talk around the answer. I don't think I have a good answer truthfully. Just more word vomit.

@Songbird_HS I totally understand oranges perspective on this to some extent tho. after a case where you have already been tried and judged would you want to tell the card game community to be your judge and jury too immediately if they didn't know? probably not. ban still makes sense tho.

@hearthywatcher Yeah I get that. Impossible to say if the reaction would have been different if he'd been honest sooner.

@OakDota2 Some thoughts on this. There's no good answer. I understand why he didn't go public, but it still feels pretty crappy with regards to everything that happened in the Hearthstone community surrounding this subject recently-ish. https://t.co/mtRKiWhS17
