Apparently what that senator in my previous tweet might have been meaning was "Overturning long-standing precedent can be good. Look at how Brown (which ended racial segregation) overturned Plessy (which allowed for racial segregation)." Appreciate the clarifications.

      @Celestalon He's right that overturning precedent can be a good thing, but wrong in equating equality to removing something that guarantees the right for women to make their own informed medical decisions with their physicians.

        @Its_Immanis Preaching to the choir, we're on the same side of that issue. I'm merely recognizing that I misinterpreted what that senator's argument was.

      @Celestalon I think that's what he was getting at yeah, with bad word choice. But "precedent > all" is not what Obama was getting at so it's a clumsy and bad faith comparison either way. Guy is still a ghoul arguing in favour of this decision so its w/e, but good to have facts straight.

        @Caaethil Agreed across the board.

      @Celestalon So he’s a bigoted dumbass but in that tweet he was being just a dumbass. Got it.

        @themattlondon Exactly. I think he’s evil either way, but I’d rather hate a guy for the bad things he did say, not the bad things he *didn’t* say. Important distinction for me, even@though the result is the same.
