Wanted to try MTG Commander, so picked up a few precon decks. Played a practice game between two of them... ...the stack management/complexity involved in Prismari Performance is *insane*. Dear god.

It's the kind of deck that looks like it'd be fun to play digitally: you get to just make your plays and watch the fireworks go off. But IRL... Figuring out what happens after each spell cast is like 10min of headscratching, and a google or two. Save me.

I think it's a fun deck, but I can't imagine trying to play that at a casual table with friends, making them all wait as I figure out these convoluted turns constantly. Am I missing something that can make this sort of thing more comprehensible? Do you just get used to it?

@Celestalon Generally you get used to it with time, but having played against that deck with a friend its just a deck that has a huge amount of triggers + interactions to keep track of. Prob not a precon I'd suggest for a brand new player for that reason but it is fun when you figure it out

@Celestalon A buddy of mine who doesn't play much MTG picked up that precon on a lark and I winced. Exactly the wrong deck for a newbie. I'm a big fan of izzet myself, but its a tricky combo deck with lots of things to keep track of.

@Celestalon The more recent precons for New Capenna commander are much better. Some of them use a few tokens, but otherwise they all have pretty simple win conditions that are pretty easy and fun to pilot.

@DevSpacePrez Yeah, I got a few different ones, so have other options, thankfully.
