              @lyynnnHS @HearthNewsBot The degree to which I minmax is kinda crazy. Whenever I play a game and find that there's little/no theorycrafting, or even worse, *bad* theorycrafting, I take that as a personal attack.

                  @lyynnnHS I've never tried Div2, but I've tried PoE several times. In general, I think it's got a lot of potential, but the design complexity bloat is so far off the charts that the game is inscrutable to all but the most dedicated, and the gameplay isn't fun enough for me to justify that.

                    @Celestalon I played 4 years ago when the vitriol towards the game was much less concerted so I might not be picking up on what you are referring to specifically, also I played in the standard league with all the old OP items which really appealed to my inner hoarder

                      @lyynnnHS I think for about the last 4yr, they've just added stuff, rarely taking anything away. They add a new season/expansion mechanic like Heist or Pyramid or Delve or Botany or whatever, and it's just now active too. At this point there's like 30 different 'things' active.

                        @lyynnnHS And as a new/returning player who never was there to learn them as they were released, it's all just a mess that you're getting dozens of different currencies/quests for, no idea how any of it works, what parts are still relevant, etc.

                      @lyynnnHS Back to this question though. I cannot recommend Horizon Forbidden West enough. It's an 11/10 game. Otherwise, Diablo III, Diablo Immortal, Destiny 2, Shop Titans, and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, have all scratched my theorycrafting itch quite well.

                        @lyynnnHS That's a pretty good variety of genres, so there's probably something in there you'll like. Pathfinder is probably the dark horse there, would strongly recommend giving that a shot even if you haven't heard of it. (Warning: character creation may fill your first play session.)
