Do we get a copy of the Deathrattle minion in hand? There's been some inconsistencies with this wording when comparing Nine Lives and Tamsins Phylactery. @MyntyPhresh @Songbird_HS https://t.co/OIHIiBV6JG

@ZeddyHS @Songbird_HS I dont think theres inconsistencies, right? All of these do the thing they say on top of getting the card in your hand bc the bonus thing they do doesnt inherently requiring "using" the card (unlike Drakefire Amulet, which summons them. Would be diff if it said "summon copies")

@MyntyPhresh @ZeddyHS @Songbird_HS So does this mean that drakefire amulet should mill and destroy the dragons if your hand is full (e.g. playing drakefire with 10 cards in hand and auctioneer on board) because it can't discover them before summoning them?

@Jkirek_ @MyntyPhresh @ZeddyHS @Songbird_HS discover can output to the board instead of the hand

@RidiculousHat @MyntyPhresh @ZeddyHS @Songbird_HS But if it summoned copies, the dragons would be in hand, does that not mean the non-copies should be summoned after going to hand first?

@Jkirek_ @MyntyPhresh @ZeddyHS @Songbird_HS i don't understand this logic at all. discover->summon means the things you pick go to the board after you pick them. discover without specified output goes to hand

@RidiculousHat @MyntyPhresh @ZeddyHS @Songbird_HS I see this explanation as saying that Discover itself means add to hand (that's why phylactery/nathanos don't need extra words), and then any extra text is something to do with those cards on top of that; gain their deathrattle/summon them etc.

@Jkirek_ @MyntyPhresh @ZeddyHS @Songbird_HS discover means "you get the thing you find". doesn't mean you get it in hand, just that you get the thing. if the card says summon, you get it in play. otherwise, in hand. lives, phylactery, and nathanos do not discover deathrattles - they discover cards. so you get the cards

@RidiculousHat @MyntyPhresh @ZeddyHS @Songbird_HS That's not what drakefire amulet's wording would make me believe: it has "summon them" as an entirely separate line from the discover; first you discover (which goes to hand, because that's what discover does), then you summon. No discover card says "add it/them to your hand"

@Jkirek_ @RidiculousHat @ZeddyHS @Songbird_HS We actually briefly talked about this at one point, and the reason we dont make Drakefire do nothing if your hand is full is bc thats unexpected, confusing, and - mainly - just not in the player's favor

@ZeddyHS @MyntyPhresh @Songbird_HS I could be misremembering but I think the reason nine lives gives you it and the phylactery doesn’t is because of the word “also” on nine lives. That makes the triggering it sort of a secondary affect on top of discovering it as opposed to just discovering it for the affect

@Robins_compass @MyntyPhresh @Songbird_HS Phylactery does give you a copy of the minion, that's the inconsistency

@Robins_compass @ZeddyHS @Songbird_HS Is the confusion here just the word "Also" on Nine Lives? To me these all read as though you get the card in hand + the bonus effect

@MyntyPhresh @Robins_compass @Songbird_HS It's just the also that throws it off for me, makes me feel like it's an additional effect to the discover, where as the others I'd expect the full discover to be attributed to the deathrattle being applied and triggered. I can see it either way now but leaves some confusion

@ZeddyHS @MyntyPhresh @Robins_compass @Songbird_HS discover almost always adds the card to hand... but i admit that i did not think this card gave me the card in hand on top of nathanos gaining and triggering a deathrattle until this twitter interaction. it's a little counterintuitive i think even if mostly consistent

                  @ZeddyHS @MyntyPhresh @Robins_compass @Songbird_HS an "also" would go a long way here i think

@RidiculousHat @MyntyPhresh @Robins_compass @Songbird_HS To me Nine Lives is worded the best of the three and would be nice if all were worded like that just for clarity

@ZeddyHS @RidiculousHat @MyntyPhresh @Robins_compass @Songbird_HS I think if the text box was just a little bigger there would be “Also “ in both other boxes too. I would bet my left leg that adding also to either of those text boxes looked funky and Team5 is not about the 1 word on the bottom line life.

@HsPigpen @ZeddyHS @RidiculousHat @Robins_compass @Songbird_HS Yeah looking at it now, Nathanos could definitely afford to have 'Also' in his text. Phylactery on the other hand....

@MyntyPhresh @ZeddyHS @Songbird_HS I remember that with revive pet you don’t get a copy in hand which was my basis for assuming things would function as stated, which was my mistake

@Robins_compass @ZeddyHS @Songbird_HS Things like Revive Pet and Drakefire Amulet dont give you a copy in-hand because their effects require "using" the discovered card. If they said "Summon a copy", then you would be getting the card in-hand

@MyntyPhresh @Robins_compass @Songbird_HS Couldn't the same be said for triggering it's deathrattle as using it? That's where it gets confusing I feel

@ZeddyHS @Robins_compass @Songbird_HS If I play "Play Dead" on a Nerubian Egg, nothing happens to the egg - it remains on the board, you just get the 4/4 with no dying required
