do most people have open twitter dms? i keep hearing about getting hateful messages and i just... never get them because i don't let people message me out of the blue. this is not "oh i am so smart". this is "have i misjudged common twitter usage this badly?".

@trulyaliem I’ve had open DMs for years and it’s kind of amazing how rarely they’ve come out of the blue. Had one disturbing bout when the lawsuit was unfolding last year but beyond that it’s been 99 positive to the rare 1% negative.
