Hey all. I say this every expansion season. Giveaways don't grow your streams. Consistent streaming and hard work does. Giveaways can help, yes. But usually people do those on Twitter and MOST of the time the follows/RTs/likes do NOT equal Twitch/YouTube growth. (1/3)

I say "MOST" because there are exceptions, but those are usually by hard working dedicated streamers already. (see Zeddy. hate/love him he's the giveaway king) Those follows are often "empty" anyway Don't attack CMs. Plz. We have trackers/tools/etc that help us do our jobs 2/3

You know what does help? Reaching out to CMs in the "off season". Being nice always. Not just when you want something. Interact with tweets and be positive. It's called relationship building. My DMs are open. I'm not perfect at answering them all but I do my best.

@alkali_layke Can I get some bundles? I promise I won’t give them away to randoms. Or followers. Or subs or mods. I want to add them to my hoard and sleep on them like a dragon

@J_Alexander_HS I don't hate this answer. Hoards and dragons are pretty much best practices. Right?

@alkali_layke I felt the need to do mine with weird requests that forced people to interact with me. 😂 where I made everyone draw me a HS drawing to enter, then hung them all up on my wall. You’re right that it wasn’t much growth, but I did feel a lot more in touch w the community that way 💚

@KaysaCat That sounds wonderful! Things like that go a long way in building your community.

@alkali_layke I need more ink to print the rest out, but I told everyone I’d hang them up and I was so excited to do it. I still have almost 50 to go 😅 https://t.co/q5Y6wkEalO

@KaysaCat 50 more?! Then I'd say that was definitely a success!

@alkali_layke let's say a new YouTuber who has less than 8 videos out, since they don't stream, should just work on making awesome videos, right? and then ask the awesome CM @alkali_layke to follow me on YouTube :) https://t.co/HS4KCTcpKE https://t.co/GNRb39YxPi

@alkali_layke I try to give aways on my twitter to gain followers, mainly followers who already follow my work on other networks but not on twitter yet. I think this is important to me because twitter is part of my content creation and engagement with my community.

@Tesdey Yep depends. The question should be "What's your goal?" When you're a large streamer its much different than if you're a smaller streamer. Maybe the goal is to promote an event/stream...in that case then Twitter is amazing. But always start with "What am I trying to achieve?"
