One thing we really want to emphasize with the Core set this year is flexibility. We're open to adding cards mid-year to support incoming archetypes, and balancing existing Core cards if they become problematic. The needs of the Core set change as the year unfolds.

If we'd had this same philosophy last year, I think we could have approached some aspects of class design differently. Did Rogue need 3 new secrets if we could have added some to Core when Nathria released? Probably not.

Notable things that we tried to put in Core early on in Festival of Legends development, but they were busted and got cut. Carnivorous Cube Sunkeeper Tarim (so busted) We'll keep fighting the good Cube fight.

@LoewenMitchell Tarim might be the best Hearthstone card ever printed. He was monstrously busted, even in 2023 Hearthstone land.

Also, credit for 99.9% of the Core set work goes to @AlecoGereco and @Chakki_HS. They worked really really hard to get this right, and they did a phenomenal job.

@SongbirdCora What was the design philosophy for warrior last year?

@rollbamax Look. I'm not gonna defend it. It's not great. But I will say there is a lot to look forward to for them this year.
