Some minor balance adjustments coming in today for standard! For early patches like this one, our goal is to make high-confidence changes which aim to open up the meta a bit until we can come in and make bigger changes later with access to more data and player sentiment. https://t.co/zCU0u6I6O5

You can think of this patch as more of a band-aid than anything else. Expect things like buffs and more foundational nerfs in the next patch. Also wanted to note that we're discussing twig in wild right now. I can't make any promises yet but we're monitoring the situation.

@AlecoGereco are you testing twig on a separate branch

@AlecoGereco it's important to find the root of the issue

@AlecoGereco Monitoring what? it has 85% wr mulligan, more than barnes on 4, how can anyone be respectful and positive when you come out with statements like these? The only thing I'm positive about and I can clearly say is that you are the final designer that cares the least about wild.

@Dyurne We had to make this patch with one day of data in our pocket. One day of wild data just isn't enough for us to be confident about changes when we aren't talking about something like a 2 turn infinite combo. Also it's not hard to be respectful! Even if you disagree with someone😁

@AlecoGereco I would like to request more transparency on what's going on in Wild. Everyone would agree Twig is far more broken right now than, say, Lightray was. And yet, with the ability to make a quick change demonstrated, it was ruled out ahead of time. Why?

@jrhsk8 Its all about confidence. We had to lock in this patch with one day of data in hand, and one day of standard data >>> one day of wild data on volume alone. Outside of crazy infinite combos, one day of wild data is almost never going to be enough for us to be confident in changes.

@jrhsk8 For clarity, I requested to add this patch to our schedule months ago specifically so we could correct for standard balance outliers after a large set rotation. We still have a regular post-expansion patch coming when you'd normally expect one.

@AlecoGereco Can you share any thoughts as to why yall didnt decide to touch vampiric blood or other strong DK cards?

@ExpatCajun Right now all three runes in DK seem strong, so it didn't feel right to hit just one of the runes without hitting all three. This patch needed to be very small so we opted to hit a no rune card which was in all 3 decks.

@AlecoGereco Will the team address Warrior? The numbers don't look good on warrior.

@koutroubas_john We'll be doing buffs in the next patch. If things look how they do now when we're putting that patch together then those will include some Warrior buffs.

@AlecoGereco Can you share more insight on why dk seems to be getting off with the least impactful nerfs while being the biggest outlier atm? Walloper and Lightray are huge cards which make pure and outcast as strong as they are but CQ is one of the worst performing Dk cards https://t.co/PSMYj7sSvM

@ForeverGuy5 One day of data is WAY too early to be making high scope, foundational nerfs to the way these DK decks are working. There's confidence that DK is strong, but will all 3 runes be an outliner in 2 weeks? CQ is being played in all 3 decks so it was a high confidence target.
