Weekly reminder that Varian is still broken in QM and should be flagged as warrior (bruiser at least).

I dont think that there is any potential downside of this. Flaggin him as warrior would also allow him to be played tank less often (at this point playing tank in tankless matches is so strong that people doesnt pick the other ults).

It might be better if he's flagged as bruiser like other warriors that arent full tank. (EDIT: role parity)

If only Varian was a harder hero to play this wouldn't feel so bad. Any genius wanting to exploit the matchmaking can queue with him and break games by hitting the Taunt Ulti. :/ thanks for response, but man, for something with such a large negative effect, I'm shocked it's taking this long.

It's a case of "pick your poison" since there are issues with classifying him as a warrior too.

The actual impact of the different specs is pretty small either way. It's very visible, so easy to point at as a problem when you lose to a Varian specing warrior, but in terms of win rate, his warrior spec is only slightly better than his other specs in QM.

After listening to the community feedback, though, we thought the "lesser poison" is for Varian to be classified as a warrior and then not spec warrior rather than the current path where he's not classified as a warrior and then does spec that way.

He'll be flagged as a warrior again soon. I believe that's in next week's patch.

Varian is currently flagged as a Bruiser (same category as D.Va, Xul, Sonya, Thrall, and others that fill a similar team slot). Bruisers aren't on the list to always be mirrored in Quick Match.

Starting with the Malthael patch he'll start being matchmade as a Tank, which is mirrored.
