Flair Updates and Pro Player Verification

Flair Updates

We’ve been working on reorganizing user flair from our end so we can more easily add flair in the future. Right now, all the eSports flairs have been completed (and many new ones have been added). However, this broke a lot of the currently existing flairs (Abathur has taken over!). So, please take a moment and update your flair on the right!

As new Heroes and new teams keep showing up, we'll keep on adding new flairs, so do check on them every once in a while.

Verification Guidelines

Background

We recently added a “verified” flair that shows up as a small green check next to a user’s tagline (as per this suggestion on /r/HeroesMeta). It looks like this.

These green check marks are used to protect certain users who may have a higher chance of being impersonated or otherwise copied by users for malicious purposes. Green check marks are not prestige symbols, an indication of approval from the moderators of this subreddit, or a measure of your contribution to the scene.

Requirements for Verification

In order to receive a green approval check mark to the right of your user name on /r/HeroesoftheStorm, you must be a professional player, a caster, a member of an HGC eSports team (like a team manager), or well-known community figure.

In cases where this is not clear, moderators will use a combination of follower/subscriber information, traffic statistics, and their own judgement to decide if you qualify.

Steps to get verified

  1. Follow the @RedditHeroes Twitter account.
  2. Tweet at the account (if it doesn’t follow you yet).
  3. Send a DM from your Twitter account with your reddit username and who you are in the Heroes community.
  4. Profit!

NOTE: If you don't have any flair assigned previously, you should set some flair first, or you'll get Abathur flair. Also, if you update your flair after verification, you'll lose the green check, so please let us know if you do that.
