To quote dreadnaught and gilly - "I don't have words". Without spoiling anything you HAVE to watch this series.

Can I ask why suddenly certain vods have been made private? Trying to catch up on the matches I missed while at work, and it seems each series has one game I just can't watch because it's been set to private, notably game 5 of bstep vs team8

There's been a bunch of weird issues on our side when it comes to VoDs this last week, goal is to have them all fixed by today.

Can you give us any details on what happens when a player won't reconnect like in this match? I've checked the HGC rules and it seems that there is nothing specific, only this:

Blizzard, in its sole discretion, may require that a game or match be paused, suspended, replayed, or forfeited by a team in the event that one or more players lose their connections or the game is otherwise affected by abnormal technical or nontechnical issues, or based upon violations of the Official Rules or otherwise unfair or unsportsmanlike conduct.

Could GFE say "we don't want to play 4v5, we want a default win"?
Was GFE aware that someone on NT didn't reconnect or was it just "ok, end of pause, go and play"?
If they knew that NT played with a bot, did they know which specific player disconnected?

    Hey /u/lerhond

While the rule you quoted certainly can apply to the situation the one we look towards first is in the Pauses section (5.4.j). Though we review every instance individually, this is what we use as a base.

In the GFe vs NT match on the first pause the 10 minute timer started. Erho was able to reconnect and the gameplay resumed. After a brief bit of play Erho's computer suffered a catastrophic malfunction and as such another pause occurred. It was at this time that the counter resumed and both teams. During this time we evaluated the likelihood of Erho being able to reconnect and found that it was unlikely. Due to this fact both teams were informed that once the 10 minute pool was used up we would unpause and play out the rest of the game.

To answer your series of questions directly:

Could GFE say "we don't want to play 4v5, we want a default win"?

No, this is not an option that we give to teams.

Was GFE aware that someone on NT didn't reconnect or was it just "ok, end of pause, go and play"?

    &

If they knew that NT played with a bot, did they know which specific player disconnected?

Yes they were aware. In custom games the game will announce who disconnects. Additionally, the only time All Chat is permitted is during moments of issues like these, No Tomorrow immediately let both GFe and the Observers know of the disconnect.

I'm not fluent in corporate title terminology. Assuming that the "Asc." stands for "associate", what does it mean?

In our Esports department the ranks for the track I'm on tend to go: (All lowest to highest)

    • Coordinator
    • Esports Manager
    • Product Manager
    • Franchise Lead

Each one of these has a rank associated with it as well:

    • Assistant (though we usually don't use this one in Esports)
    • Associate
    • None (I know, it's weird.)
    • Senior
