is it feasible for the game to not give up the fact that you have instants in your hand by constantly asking if you want to respond to things?

for example, i want to use an instant at the end of their turn only. but by asking if i want to respond to every single action they take, they know i have an instant in my hand and might not play what they normally would in order to respond to me instead.

another example, settle the wreckage doesn't really need to keep pausing the game to ask if i want to respond to every action besides them declaring attackers right?

my thinking is a 'pass until x phase' solution. so i can pass until end of turn or pass until attackers declared. fair? doable?

You can get exactly the functionality you mention by setting a stop on the phase where you want to act (click phase icon) and hitting shift+enter. That will pass to anything the opponent does until you get to the phase you put a stop in.
