Took me a bit to find, as I was curious to know when they would be removing these; figured someone else might find this info useful.

Currently, once the ability is disabled, its disabled. Having a copy in your collection will not circumvent that. The only exception to this is the Closed Beta rewards - those codes are good until 2020.
