Exactly that. More people play when the drafts first start, and it tapers down as they run. And a queue needs a certain population to sustain healthy matchmaking.
We had worried that we wouldn't get enough Bo3 players to sustain these queues at all, but did an experiment with KLR draft to see. The Bo3 contingent did show up well, and we were even able to extend the run by a week. So we're trying it again. Hopefully we'll see similar results with Cube, and can make more (and longer) Bo3 the norm.
