Overwatch Version 2.?

I haven't seen anyone mentioning this yet, but Overwatch's current PTR patch is version 1.9.x, and Live is 1.8.x. With each major content release or hero update, the game has been going up by one full minor version number, which means we're quickly approaching 2.0. In most software products, a major version number change (I.E. 1.x to 2.x or 2.x to 3.x) means more than just a feature or content update. A major version number change is usually reserved for expansions or sequels.

Is Overwatch going to buck the usual trend and just keep climbing in version numbers, or is something big on the horizon? Or are we going to have 1.9.1, 1.9.2 and eventually 1.9.9.9.9.9.1?
