It's October, which means this month hosts the third and final Steam Next Fest of 2026, and it's starting now.
Until October 26, you have a chance to check out some free demos for new and upcoming games. There's a whole slew of new game demos to check out, and with so many options, it's so hard to choose. Thankfully, Steam has got a trailer video that showcases a few of the games, so it might help you pick a starting point.
They've even got a little intro video showing how you can find more demos even easier, with all sorts of new sorting features for the new and improved Steam Next Fest navigation systems. You can find basically demo you want with this. And while you're at it, give Kaci a round of applause for all of the great work she does for all of these Fest videos.
Quote From Valve The October edition of Steam Next Fest has begun, with thousands of FREE demos awaiting your gaming fingers. Check out the trailer above for a sneak peek of the variety of games you'll find!
We host Steam Next Fest three times a year (February, June, October) as a way to highlight games before they've launched. Developers from all over the world share their demos, and by wishlisting your favorites (after playing them for free!) you can keep up with their path to official launch on Steam.
New for this edition: we've made some changes to (hopefully) make it easier to browse the fest. Now you can search by genre, theme, feature, and even sub-category. Our video below gives you a quick tour.
The October 2026 edition of Steam Next Fest runs through October 26th at 10 a.m. Pacific.
Have fun!
-The Steam Team
Remember that this event only lasts a week, so if you see any demos you're interested in, it's best to get to playing as soon as you find them.
