EA Shuts Down BioWare, New Mass Effect Game Cancelled

After being a known name in the gaming industry for over 30 years, bringing some of the most well-known RPGs into existence, Electronic Arts has officially shut down BioWare, as the company says on their X page.

If you remember when they announced Mass Effect 5 all the way back in 2020, they have confirmed that development of the game has been cancelled.

Why have they been cut all of a sudden? Did the middling reception of Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Mass Effect: Andromeda catch up to them? Is this a victim of the buyout from Saudi Arabia?

    Anthem. oof.

That aside, the industry lost a titan today. It's good that the people behind those games are still around though, so having those brains move to projects both new and old is certainly going to suck but it will be cool to see what people end up cooking up.

Rest in peace, BioWare. A Canadian gaming titan.

When I saw Anthem, I was like that "Who invited my man blud" meme.

WOW. I played most of their games. Those were great. Hope the people will land on their feet, start a new studio and keep giving us bangers.
