PEAK Has Released for Consoles, Physical Release on December 9

Having been one of the most successful indie PC games of last year, PEAK has officially launched on consoles. It can now be purchased on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

According to Landfall and Aggro Crab, your save data is not transferrable. If you really want those badges again, you'll have to actually earn them agan.

You may have also wondered why the update took up a lot more space than normal. That'd be for all the news maps being added. 208 of them to be precise!

Quote From Landfall/Aggro Crab

Hey Scouts!

It's finally here. PEAK is now out on consoles, which means CROSSPLAY is available for PEAK Steam players. The game has launched to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, so you can play with any of your fellow scouts on these platforms!

You can join lobbies using the ROOM CODES we introduced a couple of months ago!

FAQ:

Can I transfer my Steam progress to other platforms?

There is no save progress transfer for PEAK to other platforms, you'll just have to get those badges again, or act as a guide for your friends that are new to the game!

Do mods work if I play with console players?

Short answer is: no. There is a possibility that client-side mods may work, but we can't guarantee that they won't cause any issues with lobbies or games. You're welcome to try them out BUT if you encounter bugs, please try to play without any mods installed before making a bug report.

Bugs or other issues:

As with any major launch, there are likely connection issues or bugs that may occur on launch. This could be due to the influx of players all wishing to climb with their console friends, or a super secret bug that will haunt me for the next week. Either way, let us know in as much detail as possible if you do encounter these and we'll look into it! You can email us to [email protected] or write a report in the official PEAK Discord Server or in our Steam forums!

What's Next For PEAK?

WELL. It's been a big year once again! Not only are we now out on consoles, we also released the final content update to PEAK back in August. Now that these large tasks are done, we're gonna keep an eye out for any bug reports that may arise with the recent release, and slowly wrap up any loose ends on the game. As for the rotation of maps, we're adding 208 new maps to the game that will cycle through forever. This is so that you can still enjoy the replayability of PEAK even when we're not patching every two weeks.

It's bittersweet. PEAK has changed the lives of our team in ways we never could have imagined, and we're excited that we got the chance to finish updating the game with a release that includes even more players! We couldn't have done it without all the help from you scouts, so thank you.

While we don't plan any more major updates, this game won't disappear into the void. You can still play with your friends whenever the peak calls for you, or maybe a solo climb awaits you. And who knows, maybe the new projects both Aggro Crab and Landfall work on will be just as peak...

3.0.0 Patch Notes:

Bugfixes

  • Walking into a crouching scout will once again allow you to climb onto their shoulders

  • Scouts can no longer climb on invisible trees in the Mesa

  • Dead scouts should no longer find themselves warped into space when revived by the Scout's Honour

  • Removed the bookworm badge cheat. You will now need to earn the bookworm badge normal style!!

  • Hopefully fixed an issue that would sometimes cause the Kiln's campfire to be deleted when a new game starts

Modder Notes

  • Island maps have now been moved into assetBundle files

  • There are 208 of them. They are not expected to be modified much, ever, except to fix case-by-case critical issues with procgen.

Enjoy! /Team PEAK

The two teams have also announced a physical bundle releasing on December 9, containing the game, a buddy code to give a friend a digital copy of the game, and a customizable passport kit just like the one in the game.
