As we saw on the 2021 roadmap, Riot has created a new type of expansion called champion expansions. The first one is arriving this week and features Aphelios alongside several new cards. Let's check out those cards!

New Champion: Aphelios
The main character of this champion set is Aphelios. You can learn more about how Aphelios works here.
New Followers
We currently know of 4 new followers that are joining us in Legends of Runeterra. They all come from the Targon region.
New Landmarks
A new Targon landmark has been included in the Aphelios champion set.
New Spells
We're getting 9 new spells in the new set representing all the different regions.

Gluttony is really interesting. Troll Gifts seems powerful.
Just noticed that each new follower is modeled after one of Aphelios's weapons.
The flight - Calibrum. The sky shadows - Crescendum. The fang - Severum. The cloven way - Gravitum.
That leaves only Infernum without a follower.
This is an exciting patch! Not only some of the more oppressive cards are nerfed, my boi Aphelios makes his debut!
Originally we stated there were 14 new cards. It is actually 15 - I forgot to include the previously revealed Gifts From Beyond.
