Out of Cards Forged in the Barrens Giveaway Results!

Greets!

Sorry for the delay in getting these ready, it's been one heck of a week. The winners have been drawn for our on-site giveaway this afternoon and it's time to announce the winners.

The Good - Congratulations

Bananenparty and SilverWolf have both won themselves a Forged in the Barrens Bundle!

  • 60 Forged in the Barrens card packs.
  • 2 random Forged in the Barrens Legendary cards.
  • Hamuul Runetotem card back.

A very special thank you to Blizzard for providing us with the prizes for this giveaway. If you haven't pre-ordered yet, there is still time to do so and you can do so in-game or on the Battle.net shop.

The Bad - Disqualifications

Although we didn't go heavy on disqualifications, 12 people were removed from the giveaway for spamming or making use of an overwhelming number of low-quality replies. The majority of participants in the Tavern Crawl did a good job and I'm glad to see it!

Now, there is certainly room for disagreement on what is a low-quality reply, so we were more than nice on this, but it's possible in the future we'll be more aggressive. I don't believe it's difficult to ask everyone to leave a full sentence talking about a card at a minimum. Yes, some cards are always going to be hard to talk about, but those ones you have some wiggle room provided your other replies are of good quality.

If you want a full list of who was qualified, you can find that here. I won't be providing a list of those disqualified to avoid publicly shaming them. If your name isn't on the winner list, please make a better attempt next time or don't participate -

The Social Giveaway Winners

Although winners were announced through Gleam, it is worth mentioning them here as well.

    Also, I fully agree with the minimal requirement to qualify a comment as a comment ; it ain't hard to give your personal first impression : 
    it is even easier to look what others have commented and pick one to respectfully agree/disagree with their verdict.

    Lol just kidding, this giveaway was very funny and I'm happy i wasn't disqualified! I've commented more than half the cards some hours before the giveaway finished with a sentence or a joke, but I've also read some of other comments 'cause i hate not being original lol.

    I wonder if any of my fast comments made you smile ahahah

    I will participate in the next giveaways too for sure!

  • Congrats to the winner. I'm a bit curious as how people got ~18 entries, which doubles my own. I guess I need to be more active.

    EDIT. turns out, some replies I've made is not within the card discussion page, but the announcement of the cards. So, it doesn't count towards the achievements. *feelsbad*

    I can't stress how happy I am to know about the disqualifications. Seeing a number of users spam the card threads with "solid" and "good" replies was just super annoying.

  • I had 16 tickets out of a total of 2622 in the entire giveaway, so there's no way I wouldn't win a bundle unless the giveaway was rigged kekW

    In all seriousness, congratulations to the winners! I had fun commenting on every card instead of on just the most interesting ones (even if my analysis on some cards was very lacking) and I hope everyone had fun too.

    And I agree with the disqualification part. I had some longer posts on some cards thinking about different possibilities for them and it would be a shame if those posts would be as worth as "might see play" types of posts.

    Thanks to the event, we've had some nice discussions with fellow users. I feel like I know every one of the cards, even the fillers, and I'm more hyped for the expansion.

    There are many cool cards, even the most of the common cards are fine. I don't think of any super broken card. A balanced expansion, I'd say.

  • giveaway tickets could be earned not only by card discussion. so I would understand if you would just remove entries got from commenting from the total number of user's entries. but full disqualification is kinda too much

    • You're right, there were multiple ways to enter. No one was forced to spam disappointing nonsense in the threads.

      • surprisingly not everyone is good at writing essays for every card

        • We never expected essays, I just wanted to see an on-topic sentence.

          Add something of value to the community instead of only taking away. We aren't a take-only society here on Out of Cards.

        • A full sentence would suffice. Not an essay. Just some nouns, a verb, and preferably some adjectives.
