Ugh, out of all the LoR mechanics/decks... I loathe Teemo/Shroom decks to my core. It gives me Bomb Warrior from Hearthstone PTSD.
It's not that I think people shouldn't be able to play it, but the fact that it's often just too easy to win through simple attrition. I'll also be the one to say I'm not entirely a huge fan of Yordles, but I'll be happy to see what the other regions get with this expansion.
I don't play Runeterra, but I checked in 'cause I'm bored, and man - I wish we had more cards like Swole Scout in Hearthstone! The flavor and the image would make me giggle every time I played it. Overall, the flavor and energy in this batch of cards is much cuter and sillier than our usual. I'm jealous.
I've been playing for the last 2+ weeks and taking a break from Hearthstone. There are things I love about the mechanics, but I still have a hard time judging cards. It seems like a strong early game wins the day no matter what style of deck you're playing. Early chip damage easily puts your opponent in lethal range for those explosive turns when a Champion levels up. I can't imagine including any unit that costs more than 6. Aggro rules the day I suppose, but it's been a nice change of pace from QuestStone.
The meta is very fast at the moment, but it does go through different phases. Many still shudder at the Aphelios days of infinite heal and card generation.
I like that, despite this cutesy and whimsical side of Runeterra, it doesn't feel at odds with the more serious and gloomy side of it. I think Riot has found the right balance and having a consistent art style helps. Hearthstone is my main, but its disparate art styles and mishmash of flavour really detracts from my experience. It's like reading a comic drawn and written by a dozen different artists and writers, and I'm not a fan of that.
Aloof Travelers is the standout card in the bunch. Forcing a draw synergizes with puffcaps strategies, forcing a discard can disrupt combo decks, it gives you card advantage, it comes with a body that's not too bad for its cost, and it's multi-region.
Aloof Travelers is straight-up evil. No way to stop it: your opponent just loses a card forever. Unlike Hunt the Weak, it A. targets the highest-cost card in hand, B. could hit a champion, and C. comes on a body!
This is so true. I think I probably need to be the one playing the deck, rather than the one getting tilted by it, almost entirely because of Aloof Travelers.

Puffcap Pup is going to be the MVP for these poison decks. Strong card on its own.

Have you met Swole Squirrel?
I'm in love. Thank you.
These cards have me desperately wishing I enjoyed Runeterra's mechanics.

I do agree with that. They go for a different flavor with every expansion, and they have so many artists that work on the game.
But then, I've never been much a fan of the Warcraft flavor anyhow. It's very manly, very 'gritty'. I prefer cuter fare.
To be fair everything about Yordles is pretty cute. I'd say that Poppy is about as serious as a yordle gets...which isn't very.
I played enough Hearthstone plays to have a barely idea about what is going to happen with [Hearthstone Card (Stinky Whump) Not Found] xD
*muffled wheezing noises*

Yordle Newbie trying to role-play as Lee Sin :d

BC/PZ puffcaps is looking absolutely terrifying.
