It's about time! You can now protect your Riot account with multi-factor authenticator (MFA, 2FA) to help secure your account against attacks.
- This is a new system over the old one that allowed you to enter a code when logging in on a new device.
- The new system uses your email to authenticate your account access. Further updates coming later this year.
- You are not required to enable this for your account, everything is opt-in.
- Multi-factor authentication is not available on Garena and other 3rd party portals.
Enabling multi-factor authentication will help protect your logins, payment information, and collections.

Do I Always Need to Enter a Multi-Factor Authentication Code?
Nope!
In the launcher, under the field where you enter the MFA code, you'll see a box that says Remember this app for 30 days. Check it, and you won't have to enter a code again for 30 days. Just remember to only do this on a trusted device, like your personal computer or mobile phone.
