Ok, They convinced me, I will be playing Dragonlock for next 4 months.
A 5-mana 5/5 Dragon with a conditional Hellfire. At worst it's an average minion, but if you meet the condition it's arguably 9 mana of value in a turn 5 play. This looks like Duskbreaker 2.0.
Nether Breath is a mediocre spell at it's core, but very strong if you meet the condition. The risk/reward value is comparable to Druid's Breath of Dreams in terms of potential power.
These cards make Dragon Warlock seem more legit than I would have previously thought.
Because one Abyssal Enforcer wasnt enough. Jesus.
I was wondering how they would incorporate dragons into warlock fantasy; and I am satisfied.
Nether breath face, evis creep.
Hellfire on a stick + Removal/Healing spell. Feels good! Hopefully this will bring slower warlock decks back into viability.
Anyone else think the art on these 2 cards is weirdly similar? Anyway, both seem really good to me.
Two good cards, would love to see Dragon based Warlock come together. Long way to go yet though.
Warlock is my favourite class but I dislike Zoo, meaning it's been tough lately. Quest has been fun though.
Abyssal Drake incoming boys. Seems like a strong card for Control Warlocks if they end up existing.
Amethyst Spellstone was good, so this should be good as well. Warlock is in dire need of heals outside of Broodmother and Khartut.
And to the skeptics, I say that Draconic Lackey will be the missing link in activating this dragon, because obviously you will always run some kind of lackey generation in Warlock. I hope they get even more good dragons, class card or neutral to really make it shine.
Would you warp your Deck just to play 2 more Hellfire? Meh...
That spell on ther other Hand seems pretty good.
yes I would warp my deck to play a Hellfire that comes with a 1-mana 5/5.
Ever heard of Reno the Relicologist? Yeah, this is just about as good.
Hellfire plus a 1 mana 5/5, as well as basically warlock eviscerate. Probably worth it
To be fair they're not just Hellfires but Hellfires on a stick, which is a pretty remarkable aspect since you can contest the board now.
Moreover, we haven't seen most of the Dragons, so it's foolish to assume that these two cards will be the only payoff for playing Dragon.
I mean, if you were right, then all the other classes (and the expansion as a whole) would fail
Maly-Questlock incoming?
Interesting idea. Double [Hearthstone Card (Netherbreath) Not Found] plus single Soulfire is 24/28 with Malygos in play. I'm not counting 2nd Soulfirehere because I tend to discard the 2nd with the 1st.
Depends on the dragons that fit the deck though. Right now I guess you could run Twilight Drake, [Hearthstone Card (Deranged Netherwing) Not Found] and probably Ysera. Doesn't seem enough to me to guarantee that you get the extra damage out of [Hearthstone Card (Netherbreath) Not Found]. Not sure if you need that though or if you can get some damage in throughout the course of the game that makes these 4 extra hitpoints obsolete.
Dont forget Alexstraza, Jepetto and Hellfire.
Alexstraza is better than Ysera and we'll probably get at least one more taunt dragon, which should be good enough. Don't forget that Crowd Roaster is still a card
I actually forgot about Alexstraza. No idea what was going on with my brain there.
Don't know how good Crowd Roaster might be in that build, therefore I didn't mention it.
There's a typo in the card text of Deranged Netherwing: Should be characters instead of charaters.
I doubt there will be enough dragon support to make dragon Warlock viable, hence these 2 cards will not see competitive play. They would be very good/broken in another class, but unless warlock gets 2-3 more class cards that either are dragons or have strong dragon synergies (which I don't see happening), these 2 will be arena only.
If there is only neutral support, then other classes will (probably) just make better use of it and produce stronger dragon decks. Note, warlock will not get dragon explorer, which already hurts.
These also don't really fit in a Galakrond deck, which I guess will be dominant (based on a history where Hero Cards were usually build-arounds for classes that have had them)
