Best card for week one cause everyone is gonna use dragons. Turn 6 quest shaman u get an 12/12 rush. Cool
Not sure if it would ever see much play but turn 9 onward you could use Leeroy Jenkins to give you opponent two whelps (which are dragons) to activate this.
Could be useful to remove a large taunt stopping you from getting that winning charge from Leeroy perhaps?
clever play I like it :)
What this card really needs is for its battlecry to also destroy a targeted Dragon, and to be a crab.
But seriously...
This card intrigues me because it feels like T5 actively trying to prevent people from going all-in on Dragons. It obviously won't entirely stop them, because no card will do that, but it is extremely punishing to run midrange Dragons to be dropped on curve only to see them swept. My immediate question is whether there's an efficient tech-to-the-tech - my first thought was BGH directly into this played on curve would result in a net positive trade, but I think not a big enough one to be worthwhile.
Turn 4 mana 7/7 pig ptsd intensifies. Turn 4 is going to be frightening again. Big time. The card will be detrimental in a non dragon environment with its vanilla stats, but hey! Guess what? I'm gonna play plenty of said dragons... and you too! This is awfully good.
Really good tech card in this heavy dragons enviroment that we will be soon, now rhat Dragon Slayer is not in standard
Agreeing with those who think this might be nerfed - perhaps to be (gain +4 attack this turn?)
that's what I was thinking
Or maybe +4 attack permanently.
Really, it's the HP buff that makes this overpowered because if you run it into a tiny dragon you're left with a completely overstatted monstrosity.
Not to mention all the dumb shenanigans Quest Shaman can pull.
I'll keep my extra copies
I see why this is necessary but I still hate it.
Great to have a tech card.
Not great to completely wreck the dragon tribe just before new dragon expac.
Okay... We needed something to counter dragons, i suppose. But isn't this a little bit of an exaggeration? This punishes small dragons too much. If this thing becomes meta then people will most likely start cutting their small dragons to avoid this from becoming an 8/8 Rush on turn 4. This will put many of the early dragons in a tough spot. Primordial Explorer kinda counters it though. I don't know. This card is a little bit too punishing, imo.
Stupid, stupid card. Seems like a crazy custom expansion to me, they can't be serious. Should have only gained attack that would be alongside previous 4-mana cards like Ancient Shade, i.e. lots of attack with a condition. This way it would be a cheap removal against larger dragons, not an aggro tempo tool against the like of Bronze Explorer.
I can't wait to counter Nozdormu ! Play a legendary be counter by a rare card....
Who needs Oasis Surger? :O
Anti-Dragon tech for aggressive Decks.
A perfectly good counter to these OP Explorer cards - oooof
Autoinclude in every deck on release day.
I won’t even think about it. Just trow two of them in.
This is gonna see play for sure, it's nowhere near as punishing as it should be if its effect doesn't connect. A 4/4 for 4 is not the worse thing in the world. Just compare this with golakka crawler and you'll see what I mean
...but golakka crawler is a fully statted 2 drop? I'd rather play a vanilla 2 mana 2/3 than a 4 mana 4/4 any day
Now that's a counter straight out of hell.
