Hearthstone Battlegrounds is showcasing new content that is due to arrive next week on January 17 right now! Watch the "Build a Team" event to get a glimpse of what you can expect out of the new meta and start preparing your own strategies to get an advantage for next week's launch of Battlegrounds Season 3.

  • The event started at 12:00 PM Pacific and runs for 6 hours.
  • There are no drops taking part so no need to watch if you don't want to. There will be a free skin next week though!

The format is a bit complicated but what you need to know is that the teams that everyone is starting on will be changing each round. Leaders of lobbies get to trade players around and the results are being tracked in a spreadsheet. Players will be earning points and the top players are going to get Season Passes to give out to their respective communities. Though apparently everyone is going to have some passes to give out during this event too!

  1. Players will play rounds between 9am-3pm pst. # of rounds determined by time allowed.
  2. The Lobby Leader of each round will choose a player to trade between teams after each round.
  3. The Lobby that finishes their round first will be the lobby that chooses which player to trade first.
  4. The last lobby to finish will make the last trade. New lobbies begin after the last trades are made.
  5. First place players cannot be traded.
  6. Players maintain their own individual points viewed as a "score" next to their name. Player scores carry from team to team affecting the team total.
  7. Teams will have an "end of round" score and a cumulative score. At the end the cumulative score wins with the players left standing on that team as the winners.
  8. Teams that finish lobbies first will wait until all round lobbies are completing before starting the next round.
  9. Conspiring between teams is permitted. This is all about how fun you can make it! :)

After the reveals, join us on January 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. PT for Professor Putricide’s special “Build a Team” Battlegrounds Season 3 preview event! Teams from NA, LATAM, and EMEA* have come to compete, and Professor Putricide is trying to make his most amazing creation yet: the perfect Battlegrounds team. How, you ask? By mixing them up!

Players will compete in three teams: Team Nerubian, Team Eternal, and Team Abomination. After each round, each team will trade one player for a player from another team. Teams will keep playing, and mixing, until the time for the event is up and the winning team will be deemed “Plague Perfected”! 15 Season Passes will be awarded to each member of the winning team, for them to distribute to their communities!

Each competitor will be streaming from their perspective. They will each also have additional Season Pass codes to give away throughout the event, so make sure you watch your favorite streamer as they push for plague perfection in the new, unknown meta!
