Sony Unveils Limited Edition PS5 System and DualSense Controller for Marvel's Spider-Man 2

Sony has announced the limited-edition Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 system and DualSense controller (and PS5 Plates). This exciting release comes as a celebration of the highly anticipated sequel of the popular game, Marvel's Spider-Man. The limited-edition PS5 system and controller feature a sleek design inspired by the web-slinging superhero, making them must-have collectibles for fans. Yes please!

  • The PS5 system and DualSense controller showcase a distinctive design inspired by the iconic web-slinger.
  • The limited-edition PS5 system comes with a fully customized removable plate, allowing users to personalize their console further.

Important Dates

  • Pre-orders begin on July 28. Some countries can pre-order through direct.playstation.com
    • There will be copies available at select retailers worldwide as well.

  • It looks so fucking cool; I would buy it in a heartbeat if I didn't already have a PS5 lol. I know there are plates you can get, but I can be a klutz in those situations so that's a no-go. For the safety of my PS5 and the safety of my wallet, I must decline.

    • Honestly, I've removed the plates on my PS5 a handful of times and it's quite easy! There is some resistance at first that feels awkward, but they are very sturdy and can definitely handle abuse.

      If you did mess something up, at least you have new plates at the ready!

      I am definitely going to pick up some spidey plates. Even if they don't go on the console, they'd be an awesome art piece for the wall. I'm so happy that we're starting to see more of this customization stuff, and that it's not being reserved for a limited release console. The number of Switches I own at this point is a bit absurd (Original, Pikachu+Eevee, Animal Crossing, ToTK) and had Nintendo of been able to do a replaceable backplate, everything woulda been a+.

      What Sony is doing here cuts down on e-waste. Sure, does anyone actually need spiderman plates? No. But if we're going to get them anyway, it's nice to have a more environmentally, and wallet conscious option.
