At the end of last month, we got a relatively large balance patch which was supposed to shake the metas of all constructed formats. Let's check which decks won* in the process based on HSReplay's data.

*For the sake of this article, we consider decks that gained popularity and perform well as winners. Winrate stats are fluctuating heavily on a day-to-day basis which makes relying solely on them much harder.

Secret Hunter

September was a month to forget for the archetype, but after the patch its popularity has soared. While the winrate dropped a bit in early October, it has started peaking again.

Enrage Warrior

Another deck that got a clear popularity boost after the patch. The playrate has since started a steady decline, as has its winrate, but it remains as one of the strongest archetypes in the current meta.

Secret Rogue

This is a curious one. The patch did very little for Secret Rogues and their playrate actually dropped a bit after it. But the Jailer ban a week afterwards, oh boy! The average winrate got a +4 % the very next day and has since continued rising, and the playrate has followed steadily. The coming weeks will show how the meta reacts to the new contender which has already claimed the top spot on high Legend.

Undead Priest

After every balance patch there's an aggro deck hunting those that got too experimental with their ideas, and the post-meta bump in both playrate and winrate suggest that Undead Priests have succeeded in their quest. Both stats have started their decline after the meta has started to settle, however.

Plague Death Knight

Well. The deck was popular before the patch and it did get even more popular after it (and remains as the most popular archetype at many ranks) BUT it's still losing more than it's winning. It just used to lose even harder. So...the archetype won, I guess?
