As we wait for Path of Exile's upcoming details on the Necropolis league arriving later this month, Grinding Gear Games has unveiled one important quality of life feature that, depending on the implementation, may be a negative for some players.

Pantheon Powers, which are passive bonuses you obtain through the campaign and later upgrade with new effects while mapping and defeating certain bosses with a Divine Vessel active, are seeing their upgrades get unlocked account-wide. Unlocking any upgrade will add it to all your league characters so future characters won't have to worry about spending time unlocking them. Although it's a trivial amount of time to go find the upgrades you care about, I certainly won't hate not having to go play around with Divine Vessels and one can argue it will make the campaigns just a tiny bit quicker to go through the second time around since you'll be more powerful.

The downside to this though, and this is pure speculation since we're assuming there is no interface change, is that it now won't be possible to avoid certain upgrades. Let's take Soul of the Brine King. For many builds, it would be advantageous to reduce the effect of Chill on you by 50% through one of the upgrades. However, if you're running a build that relies on self-chill, you wouldn't be able to take the Brine King power, because your other characters are also using it and opted to get that upgrade.

We're hoping this is just a poorly communicated quality of life change and that there will be a new toggle feature, or we'll see a swift response after the league launches to add one in. Regardless, this is a small improvement that makes getting into that second character just a little bit easier.
