Blizzard has announced that things are going to be a little bit different going forward with Hearthstone's expansion achievements and the rewards track. Let's see what's changing.
Whizbang's Workshop makes its debut next week on March 19, and with that will come the usual unlocking of new achievements to earn experience for the rewards track. However, we can expect to see fewer achievements this time around, but those achievements will instead grant additional experience over what we've been used to seeing in the past. As of right now, we don't have exact numbers, but we'll dig into it as soon as data becomes available.
Additionally, in a first for Hearthstone, if you didn't finish any of your Showdown in the Badlands achievements for that sweet experience, don't worry about it because you can gather experience from them still once Whizbang's Workshop goes live and it will contribute to the new rewards track. That's great news for anyone that has been taking a break from the game or just didn't feel up to the task of going through all the achievements. Will this be the easiest rewards track to complete?
Honestly, this is a quality of life improvement that was a long time coming. It wasn't very friendly to players to have the achievements lose their experience numbers and now it gives people a reason to experiment with all the content that Standard Hearthstone has to offer. How do you feel about the change? Do you have a ton of achievements you need to get to?
Quote From Blizzard Unlike prior expansions, Showdown in the Badlands Achievements will not stop awarding XP with Patch 29.0 and will, instead, keep granting XP on the next Rewards Track! There will be fewer new Achievements in Whizbang’s Workshop, but each of those new Achievements will each grant more XP than main-set Achievements have typically given in the past.
Additionally, the progression on the Legendary Collector Achievement will now grant copies of two Signature cards, instead of a Diamond card:

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly:
I love this change! I always feel so cheated when I am getting close to a few achievements and think I still have a week to complete them, then suddenly they're gone.
I'm gonna be severely disappointed if they are no Year of the Pegasus achievements.
