If you've been waiting to get into Final Fantasy XIV, or you're looking to level up some of those other jobs that have been patiently waiting for your attention, the Dawntrail pre-order is your calling. The pre-order comes ahead of the July 2 expansion launch, and brings with it a minion and an experience boost.

On the minion side, Zidane becomes your trusty companion and will follow you around on adventures. There are no bonuses for having a minion out, this is purely cosmetic.

Now, for the juicy experience gains, a new pair of expansion pre-order earrings are being released which give you a great 30% boost from level 1 through 90. This is enough to get your jobs leveled in time for the July (or late June early access date) Dawntrail launch so you can experience all the fresh content. Azeyma's Earrings only work on Disciples of War and Magic class jobs, so don't expect to level cooking up with them.

Like previous earrings, these will remain on your account forever, so they can be handy for leveling up new jobs in future expansions, or the Pictomancer and Viper jobs that are new to Dawntrail (these two jobs do start at level 80). However, it should be noted that the experience boost only applies to monster and boss kills. Quests, FATES, Duty Roulette, and other activities do not gain a benefit from the increased experience. With that said, with how quick you can run dungeons with other players, the boost in experience does feel noticable, especially during lower levels.
