As recently announced on X, the Kingdom Hearts series will be coming to Steam next month! Whether it be your first time delving into the crazy world of Kingdom Hearts, or you're a regular Keyblade Master, this is a prime opportunity to get the full series all in one location.

For the uninitiated, Kingdom Hearts is a bit of an action JRPG, a union of Square Enix and Disney via mixing the former's primary franchise (Final Fantasy) with the various Disney IPs in the form of "worlds" you explore. Toy Story, Hercules, A Nightmare Before Christmas, Beauty & The Beast, plus so many more come into play, with a variety of movies being represented depending on which game in the series we're talking about. The overarching plot is...well, rather convoluted, to say the least, but it's all a part of that JRPG charm!

Speaking of convoluted, the actual titles being presented can be very confusing if you don't understand what you're getting into. To simply things as best we can, they go as follows:

  • Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 HD ReMix
    • An enhanced version of the original Kingdom Hearts with extra "Final Mix" content,
    • A similarly expanded "Final Mix" version of Kingdom Hearts II,
    • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, a prequel to the series at large, with extra "Final Mix" content,
    • Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, a port of the Game Boy Advance game set in-between KH1 and KH2,
    • The HD cinematics for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, a pseudo-prologue to KH2,
    • The HD cinematics for Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, a tale set after KH2 but before Dream Drop Distance.
  • Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue HD
    • Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, a retooled port of the 3DS game that takes place just before KH3,
    • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep: A Fragmentary Passage, a short playable episode explaining what happened to a character at the end of Birth by Sleep,
    • The HD movie Kingdom Hearts x Back Cover, expanding on the history and backstory of the series.
  • Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind DLC
    • The third main-series game that concludes the current story arc, plus a short DLC chapter.

Got all that? To truly get the full picture, you'll probably have to buy all three anyway, even with Kingdom Hearts I-III being the "main" titles. The full tweet/quote is listed below.
