Riot Games is coming to console! That is, if you don't count the games released under their Riot Forge umbrella.

Valorant is Riot's first console release and they've got a gameplay trailer to show it off. Everything is going to start in a limited beta test starting on June 14, signups available here, and will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. Players selected to participate will initially be from USA, Canada, Europe, and Japan, with more regions joining at a later undetermined date.

There will not be any crossplay, but cross progression exists. Riot believes that the competitive integrity of the game would be harmed by allowing crossplay, which is a huge win for competitive FPS players. Cross progression means everything you have unlocked on your PC Valorant account, your Riot Games account, will be available the first time you login on your console of choice.

Even if you aren't very interested in playing on console, you may want to login to it anyway on console during the beta to earn a special player card.

Considering that Riot teased Wild Rift on consoles back in 2020 during their announce trailer, this is a surprise to me that Valorant is Riot's first real console game.
