Astro’s Playroom, the game that comes pre-installed with your PlayStation 5, got an update recently. It adds a few more artifacts to the game (basically all the accessories that were released since the game came out) and a new area that’s a tease for the upcoming Astro Bot game in September.

Another thing that got added is a message about how you have to rescue a bot in Renderforest, one of the areas in the game. You find the bot by getting past the group “filming” Bloodborne and staying in the small bush for a few seconds before it appears. The bot is trapped in a container and, wouldn’t you know it, he’s dressed like a hunter!

Stand in that bush there for a few seconds.

That’s the little fellow you must save.

If you haven’t finished the game, the bot won’t appear, so this is something you do in post-game. To get him out of there, go to the platforms where you’ll find a puzzle piece in the “tree-tops”, there you’ll find a clock in the tree that has the singular platform. Press the options menu to get a prompt to introduce a date, and input November 24th, 2015. That’s the date when Bloodborne’s DLC, The Old Hunters, was released.

Use the platforms in the background to get here, then punch this flower to create a path.

You’ll need to get to that platform with the coins.

Now, the way people found out about this little bot is because of an in-game prompt, and there are 3 more bots to find, according to the trophies that were added along with this new update, though none of them seem to be in the game yet. These bots reference Returnal, Ape Escape, and Gran Turismo, so the inclusion of Bloodborne here might not mean anything.

But it is the one franchise that stand out among them. GT and Ape Escape are classic PlayStation franchises, while Returnal is a newer IP that came out this generation. Bloodborne is a game made by From Software, a company that’s not necessarily associated with PlayStation aside from this game and Demon’s Souls, so why make it part of this scavenger hunt, and the first one at that?

So, is this a hint towards a Bloodborne remake? It’s possible, but there’s no way of knowing for sure. Since this wasn’t announced at the last State of Play, we’re likely to hear from it at the next one (which should be in September or October) or at the Game Awards. Assuming it exists in the first place.
