Donkey Kong Country Returns Gets an HD Remaster for Nintendo Switch

Released back in 2010 on the Wii, Donkey Kong Country Returns was the fourth instalment of the Donkey Kong Country series and it's returning with an HD remaster! DKC Returns was followed up with the most recent instalment, that many Switch players are likely familiar with, Tropical Freeze, so look at this re-release as a way to play a prequel to the chilling adventure.

Graphics are greatly enhanced, bringing them solidly into the HD realm from the small bit of gameplay that we've seen. There are 80 levels to explore, including the levels that were additions to the game when it launched on the Nintendo DS which makes this an even better than expected remaster.

Unfortunately we won't be playing this until next year, but don't worry, it's early on with a release date of January 16, 2025.
