Nintendo Announces the Switch Successor Will Be Backwards Compatible With the Current Console

Great news for those awaiting Nintendo's next home console! Shuntaro Furukawa, president of Nintendo, announced earlier today that Switch software will be playable on its successor. The wording doesn't specify if the cartridges will also be compatible, but it wouldn't make sense to not be. Furthermore, Nintendo Switch Online will also be available on the new console. Now if only they'd properly announce the dang thing...

Quote From Nintendo

This is Furukawa. At today's Corporate Management Policy Briefing, we announced that Nintendo Switch software will also be playable on the successor to Nintendo Switch. Nintendo Switch Online will be available on the successor to Nintendo Switch as well. Further information about the successor to Nintendo Switch, including its compatibility with Nintendo Switch, will be announced at a later date.

Just a guy with opinions video games who decided to share it with everyone against their will :P. I specifically like single-player games and card games, though usually not what's most popular at the moment.
