A new updating is coming to Hogwarts Legacy on January 30 which brings in mods support for players on PC.

Mods will be available to download right from the game itself, so no external mod managers will be required to get fresh content into your game. You will though need your Steam or Epic account connected to a Warner Bros. Games account to access the mods menu.

 

How to Create Mods for Hogwarts Legacy

If you're looking to create mods for the game, it's easy to get started.

  1. Get the free Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit via the Epic Games Store.
  2. Develop!
  3. Get your mods hosted on CurseForge.

We currently know that you will be able to create mods that add in quests, dungeons, new character skins, and cosmetics. It appears you will be able to record custom audio and add gear to vendors as well! CurseForge have a dedicated support section filled with more details on modding for Hogwarts Legacy so you can get off on the right foot; If you're interested, go give it a read before mod support launches.

What Mods Can and Can't Contain

Mods for Hogwarts Legacy must:

  • Be made available to all users for free. Mods cannot be sold, licensed, or rented for a fee, nor can Mods contain features that would support monetary transactions of any type.
  • Comply with the ESRB “Teen” Rating and content descriptors, or the Game rating specific to your territory. 
  • Not publicly share user generated content appearing in the Creator Kit or game until the mod containing that content has been submitted and approved for public release on CurseForge.
  • Mods can only be used in Hogwarts Legacy and cannot be incorporated into any other third party game or product.

They cannot contain:

  • Content from Hogwarts Legacy DLC
  • Violence/Sex/Drugs/Alcohol/Gambling
  • Third Party IP/Likenesses
  • Politics/Religion/Culture
  • Promoting illegal activity
  • Abuseful, hateful, harassing, profane, defmatory, threatening, obscene, vulgar, offensive, indecent, illegal, unlawful, or otherwise inappropriate content.

Hogwarts Legacy Goblet of Mods Contest
