RoadCraft's Desert Environments Get Teased in a New Update Video - See Precipice, Sojourn, & Sandswept

Published 9 months, 2 weeks ago by

We've got more teasers from the RoadCraft team! Today we're seeing the desert environments, of which the game will be launching with three, each with different objectives to tackle.

  • Precipice – Deliver supplies, hold back floods.
  • Sojourn – Reroute gas, stop sinkholes.
  • Sandswept – Restore power, rebuild.

Check out the preview video down below and some more information we've gathered about the areas, including beautiful scenic screenshots.

Precipice

The first map that was teased is Precipice. It is an area that has been taken over by flooding, featuring both an industrial and a civilian zone. We'll be delivering supplies while mitigating the damage caused by the flood. We see an absolute mess of mud to trek through, which should make for interesting vehicle movement, crossing over streams of water which have formed due to the flooding, and seemingly the ability to build up walls to protect from further flooding.

Sojourn

Sojourn is an arid region in RoadCraft and there are massive sinkholes created by the extraction of gas from the environment - or rather, failures of extraction. Collapsing terrain, massive amounts of debris, and threats to existing buildings is going to require quite the cleanup. A big part of the job in Sojourn will be rerouting gas that has been stored on-site to prevent it from spilling into the environment due to the hazards at play.

Sandswept

The final desert map that is being showcased today is Sandswept. This location has us focus on a town that has been ravaged by a sandstorm. We'll be clearing debris to get to the solar fields to repair the solar panels, ultimately restoring power to the area; and yes, we will be reconnecting the power lines as well.

What do you think about the teases provided by the three desert maps launching with RoadCraft? These 3 will make up just under half of the total maps coming with the games launch, which is 8 in total

RoadCraft releases on May 20, 2025 and is available on Steam, Epic Games, Xbox, and PlayStation.
