Blood for the Blood God! The Warhammer Skulls presentation happened yesterday, and it brought a good number of announcements for Warhammer fans, mainly of the 40k variety. From expansions, to sequels, to brand-new games, fans of the grimdark future of humanity are eating good. Let's get into it!

Dawn of War: Definitive Edition

Probably the biggest announcement in the presentation, Dawn of War is making its way to modern hardware. The classic real-time strategy game has new models for the units, is upscaled to 4K, and includes all the factions and expansions from the original game, as well as 63-bit modding support.

Space Marine Master Crafted Edition

The other remaster announced at the show, this one brings back the 2011 action game to modern consoles with better models, modernized controls, remastered audio, and an interface overhaul. The game is releasing on June 10th for PC and Xbox, arriving day 1 on Game Pass.

Space Marine 2 - Seige Mode

A free multiplayer update that brings an endless PvE mode to the game. Releases June 26th, with a Public Test Server available on June 4th.

Mechanicus II

The sequel to the critically acclaimed Mechanicus game. This trailer showcases gameplay of the various factions in the game.

Dark Heresy

A new cRPG from the makers of Rogue Trader, Dark Heresy puts you in the shoes of an acolyte of the inquisition in a story that sees you go up against the titular Heresy.

Supremacy

From the creators of Supremacy: 1914, comes a free-to-play multiplayer strategy game for mobile and PC set in the Warhammer 40k universe. Control vast armies as you take down enemy factions and gain control of the map.

Rogue Trader - Lex Imperialis

Speaking of Rogue Trader, that game will be receiving its second story expansion in the form of Lex Imperialis. It will contain a new Champion, the new Overseer Archetype, new tools, and a new location. The expansion launches June 24th.

Darktide - Arbites Class

The co-op FPS set in the 40k universe is getting a new class. The Adeptus Arbites enforce the Imperial Law using heavy weaponry and have a cyber-doggo on their side. The class will be available on June 23rd.

Boltgun 2

A sequel to the critically-acclaimed retro FPS Boltgun, this game picks up where that one left off, killing heretics in crisp pixel-art glory. Releases in 2026.

Boltgun: Words of Vengeance

The original Boltgun game, except you kill enemies by typing words rather than shooting. It's basically Typing of the Dead in the 40k universe. It's out now, and it's free.

Tacticus - Adeptus Custodes

Finally, we're getting a look at the Adeptus Custodes making their way into Warhammer 40: Tacticus.

  • Dawn of War’s remaster is great news, but if they don’t add some serious QOL improvements and fix the ancient pathfinding issues, it’s gonna just as clunky as the original.
