The Stop Destroying Games Initiative Has a Month Left to Reach Its Target

Published 5 months ago by (Updated 5 months ago)

The Stop Destroying Games EU petition, which would force developers to leave their games in a playable state once the end-of-life is reach, has one month left to reach its target of 1 million signatures. The petition is currently sitting at a little over 660,000 signatures gathered, or about 66% of the goal.

It still needs almost 340,000 signatures by the end of next month to pass. Now, that may seem like a large number (and it is), but it's an attainable one. The petition was sitting at a little below 500,000 signatures about a week ago, so it got more than 160,000 since then. If the pace keeps up, it will hit its target with a few days to spare.

If you're an EU member, PLEASE sign this petition! It's the first step in trying to prevent another The Crew from happening. If you're a UK citizen, there's a separate petition you can sign. That one is almost halfway there, and has a shorter deadline of 14th of July.
