Julian LeFay, known for his weak as lead programmer on The Elder Scrolls: Arena and its sequel, The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall has passed away at the age of 59 due to terminal cancer.
On May 30th 2024, Ted Peterson, who has been a part of every mainline Elder Scrolls game up to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, launched a Kickstarter campaign with LeFay for a new RPG, The Wayward Realms. The project reached its backing threshold of $500,000 in 12 days, and as of right now, has over $800,000 pledged to it.
On July 16th 2025, OnceLost Games producer Victor Villareal announced in a YouTube video that Julian LeFay had to step down from the project due to his deteriorating health as a result of battling cancer for multiple years. On July 22nd, LeFay passed away due to complications from the cancer.
That same day, OnceLost Games put out an update post on their Kickstarter page honoring Julian LeFay. The next day, Julian's daughter Shae posted her own update on their Kickstarter page regarding LeFay's passing.
