Xbox has once again decided to change the name of its PC sector. Instead of "Xbox PC", the Xbox service for computers is now called "Xbox On PC". This change was not formally announced, but was first discovered on July 31st 2025 by The Verge editor Tom Warren when he tweeted about Grounded 2 and Age of Mythology: Retold using "Xbox On PC" in their trailers. Neither Microsoft nor Xbox has given any official statement on the changes.
What exactly does this name change accomplish? You tell me. Were people confused about what "Xbox PC" was communicating? Is this intended to make it clearer that I can't play Xbox on my microwave?
What do you think about this name change? Does it mean anything to you? Do you think it's just going to get changed again soon? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
