What is a "beta" anymore? No one really knows because the definition has been bastardized for years. You know all of those games that stay in "early access" for years on end? What we have here is a rare example of one of those games finally seeing an official release.
After its beta testing period started on July 28th 2017, Battlestate Games have announced that Escape from Tarkov will finally see an official release on November 15th 2025. This is what the company had to say:
Quote From Battlestate Games Battlestate Games team is pleased to announce that the release of the studio's flagship shooter, Escape from Tarkov, will take place on November 15 2025. The beta testing phase for Escape from Tarkov began on July 28 2017, and more than 400 updates have been released since then.
The game's release was announced as part of the text-based game ‘Targrad Tales’ which began with an in-game event following Patch 0.16.9.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to every player whose dedication and active participation throughout the testing period played a key role in the development of Escape from Tarkov.

Battlestate Games is the developer of Escape from Tarkov, a hardcore realistic story-driven multiplayer online project that combines features of FPS/TPS, battle simulator, and RPG with MMO elements, and Escape from Tarkov: Arena, a competitive first-person PvPvE shooter with tactical team modes.
It's a bit of a miracle that the game is finally coming out of its beta phase, but this is yet another prime example of how the "early access" moniker rarely means anything anymore. After over 8 years, and what the article self-admits as over 400 updates, we have to question why this update in particular counted as its full release as opposed to any of the other 400 prior to this one? In reality, not much will actually change with the "full" release other than a few updates and most likely being easier to find and download, but it still counts for something I guess.
