Xbox Consoles are Becoming More Expensive in the United States on October 3rd - Pricing in Other Countries Stays the Same

Due to changes in the economy, Microsoft will be increasing the prices of Xbox consoles starting on October 3rd. 

(The URL specifies May 2025, but the page specifies September 19 2025, meaning that this is a recycled page from a previous price change instead of a new page.)

This is mostly applying to the US, as Xbox gives these prices for the Xbox Series X/S consoles in the US, but strangely doesn't document the current price to be able to visualize the increase. It goes on to state that Xbox console prices in other countries "remains the same".

Beginning on October 3, we will update the recommended retailer pricing for Series S and Series X consoles in the United States due to changes in the macroeconomic environment.

We understand that these changes are challenging, and they were made with careful consideration. Looking ahead, we continue to focus on offering more ways to play more games across any screen and providing value for Xbox players.

Price updates

  • Beginning on October 3, we will update recommended retailer pricing for Xbox Series S and X consoles.
  • Pricing for controllers and headsets will remain the same.
  • Pricing for products in all other markets will remain the same.
