Gran Turismo 7 Spec III Update Launches in December - Two New Tracks, Eight New Cars, Collector Level Cap Increased

During the September 24th State of Play, Sony announced a myriad of cool new things. Alongside the Pulse Elevate gaming speakers, the 20th Anniversary God of War Controller, and the updates to PlayStation Plus, is the Spec III Update to Gran Turismo 7, adding two new tracks, eight new cars, and a whole bunch of other new features.

On November 2nd 2023, Gran Turismo 7 launched the Spec II Update, which was the largest update that the game has seen since its release date on March 4th 2022. On June 25th 2025, the franchise celebrated 100 million units cumulatively sold across all of it titles.

Yesterday, the game released update 1.63, which added five new cars and five new races. The franchise had mostly mellowed out in large updates until it was announced during the stat of play that the Spec III update would be launching in December, providing a huge list of updates:

  • Two new tracks
    • Yas Marina Circuit
    • Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve
  • Eight new cars, though at the moment, we only know four of them
    • Ferrari 296 GT3
    • Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R
    • Formula Gran Turismo car
    • Nissan MINE'S BNR34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec N1 base
  • Dunlop replacing Michelin as its tire sponsor
  • Data logger feature
  • Collector Level cap increased
  • Unlimited car invitations
  • Enhanced Weekly Challenges
  • New opening movie
  • New seasonal menu for the Menu Book
  • New Circuit Experience events
  • New curations in Scapes mode
  • Improvements to online mode
