Hearthstone's final set of the year is across the timeways. Here, we join Chromie in a race against time to recruit heroes from the past, present, and future, to fight against Murozond and it comes with a lot of ways that timeline will be bent to your command:
- New Keyword: Rewind - Cards with Rewind are cards with random effects, but if you get a bad outcome, you can turn back time to get another shot.
- New Keyword: Fabled - Fabled cards automatically put extra cards into your deck when you slot them in, giving you a series of cards from the timeline all in one package.
The set launched November 4th. Until then, you can pre-order the set in two ways:
- The normal bundle contains 60 Across the Timeways packs, two random Across the Timeways Legendary cards, and a Chromie card back.
- The Mega bundle contains 80 Across the Timeways packs, 10 Golden Across the Timeways packs, one random Signature Across the Timeways Legendary card, one random Golden Across the Timeways Legendary card, 4 Tavern Tickets, the card back, and a Chromie hero skin.
- If you purchase both bundles, you unlock the ability to purchase the Sequence Bundle, which gives you a Diamond Timelord Nozdormu, two random Signature Across the Timeways cards, 35 normal Across the Timeways packs, and 15 Golden Across the Timeways packs.

At the heart of the expansion is Chromie, the Bronze Dragonflight’s ever-cheerful chronomancer and protector of the Timeways. She made the shocking discovery that Murozond, Lord of the Infinite, is trying to derail all timelines and send them towards oblivion. To stop him, Chromie raced across the timeways (yes, really) to recruit Fabled heroes from past, future, and alternate realities. With a pre-banshee Sylvanas, a mech-piloting Gelbin, and the rest of her dream team of Warcraft icons assembled, Chromie is ready to rally against this chrono crisis.

New Keyword: Rewind
Time travel is coming to Hearthstone! Rewind is a new keyword that lets you replay cards with random effects for another shot at a better outcome. We've all had a spell go sideways or watched a minion’s effect miss the mark. Now, if a card has Rewind, you'll be offered the chance to rewrite history. Do you stick with what happened, or Rewind the timeline? The power to change RNG fate is in your hands.

New Keyword: Fabled
Wield the powers of Warcraft icons from past, future, and alternate timelines! These storied heroes are so powerful, they bring extra Legendary cards with them that automatically slot into your deck. A Fabled Legendary arrives for every class, pulled from timelines both known and never seen before.
Ranger General Sylvanas rolls in with her sisters, Alleria and Vereesa, and she's looking… alive and well? That’s because this trio comes from a time before Arthas and the Scourge tore through Silvermoon City, so you get to unleash the full power of the Windrunner sisters in their prime!
Gelbin of Tomorrow preserved his mind with Holy magic and now pilots a giant mech in a futuristic Gnomeregan. He brings two Legendary Auras that pair well with these other new Paladin cards. Chronological Aura summons a dragon guardian every turn, and Manifested Timeways hits all enemies if you’ve got an Aura in play. Gelbin really gives Aura farming a whole new meaning.
Bend Time to Your Will
Rewind and Fabled are just the beginning. Across the Timeways offers even more ways to control time itself!
Timeway Warden imprisons an opposing minion for 10,000 turns (the average length of a Control Warrior mirror match) or until the Warden dies. It’d be a shame if the Warden were silenced…
Divergence takes a minion in your hand and splits it in two, perfect for cards with powerful effects.
Ally With the Protectors of the Timeways
And of course, what’s a time travel expansion without Timelord Nozdormu? As leader of the Bronze Dragonflight and Guardian of Time (not to mention Chromie’s boss), he’s at the center of this temporal catastrophe. Technically, he’s on both sides of it. You may already know he and Murozond are one and the same. (If you’re good at anagrams, you saw this coming a mile away.) Murozond is Nozdormu’s corrupted future self. Still, Nozdormu’s willingness to fight his future self reminds us that no matter how bad the future looks, no fate is inevitable.
In fact, the theme of duality runs throughout this set. Soldier of the Bronze and Soldier of the Infinite represent opposite sides of the time war, and their card designs mirror each other in several ways.

Finally a new expansion is coming to wash this one away. Its been a long three months of slog.
We can only hope that this one would turn out better because I dont think I can stomach another expansion where we just play the same things over and over while new cards being patently too weak.
As for the new keywords and mechanics. Fabled will definitely work because of synergistic legendaries attached to it, while the rewind mechanic is sus at best. Its not that I think it wont work, but because the obnoxious animations will either break something, or the slowness of the animations will definitely make it less an incentive for me to like it. Predicting that team5 will speed up that animation few weeks into the expansion.
