We've got the second expansion of Fallout 76 arriving on December 2! Announced today during the Fallout Day celebrations, Burning Springs is a free content update that brings one of the largest map expansions yet to Fallout 76 and it introduces... post-nuclear Ohio!
The expansion will also bring forward some optimizations for PS4 and Xbox One players, and in early 2026 we will be seeing native versions of Fallout 76 on Series X, Series S, and PlayStation 5.
Ohio: More of Appalachia
Burning Springs gives us a huge new map expansion into the charred Ohio, conflagrated during the Great War; The namesake of Burning Springs!

Quote From Bethesda “Ohio is a desert wasteland now,” lays out Creative Director Jonathan Rush. "Burning Springs wasn’t ever really explored in the past Fallout games, so this is all new territory for us.” As players discover more of Burning Springs, they will also learn of the area’s history and how it fits into Fallout’s greater post-nuclear world.
Of course, it’s not just sightseeing that awaits you. Beyond the scorching temperatures and barren wastes, Burning Springs teems with threats both familiar to fans of the franchise and some entirely new, be it a vicious local breed of Deathclaw or the Rust King, a Super Mutant warlord ruling the area with an iron fist (and taste for arena combat.)
The Ghoul
Fallout 76's Burning Springs also introduces Bounty Hunting in the treacherous Burning Springs, where players can hunt down Appalachia's most wanted. Guiding the action is The Ghoul from the Fallout TV series, found in Highway Town, who offers contracts, rewards, and a few sharp insults to eager Vault dwellers.

Burning Springs, Ohio, launches in Fallout 76 on December 2, 2025. Right now you can catch Fallout 76 on Steam for 80% off and also on Xbox and PlayStation console storefronts for the next dayish.
