Closing out the week with some bits news from Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries), Halo: Combat Evolved is getting a complete remake next year and will include new missions, four-player co-op and more.
The announcement for Halo: Campaign Evolved comes from today's roundtable reveal which went over the overall vision of the remake and showcasing the new enhancements and features.
This will be the first time that the Halo FPS makes its way to PlayStation, which shows Microsoft's commitment to putting their previously exclusive games everywhere. The campaign will of course be cross-platform, able to be enjoyed by up to four players at a time. For those playing locally, you can play on Xbox and PlayStation with two-player split-screen to really capture that nostalgia. Progression will be shared between all devices so you don't have to worry about starting over.
We can expect improved controls, better scenery, and what Halo Industries is calling a "faithful" remake of the genre-defining classic. Three new missions gives us an expanded story, we'll also see new characters, enemies, and environments which should add more fun. Cinematics are redone with returning voice actors giving us freshly recorded dialog. Speaking of audio, it's be stated that the soundtrack has been remastered as well and the sound design of the game has been fully rebuilt from the ground up.
Nine additional weapons from the Halo universe will join us in Halo: Campaign Evolved, as will upgrades to vehicles that weren't in the original game (such as 4-player warthogs).
First Look at Halo: Campaign Evolved Gameplay
We've got a 13 minute long gameplay trailer! Gameplay was captured in 4K running on Xbox Series X.
More news on the game will be coming next year. Prospective Steam players can give the game a wishlist and pricing has not yet been announced.

If I had a nickel for every time a game from an Xbox-exclusive franchise that stood out as a flagship series on the original Xbox announced in 2025 that it would finally see its first release on a PlayStation console, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
You'd have 3 nickels. Gears is also on PS5 now.
And you won't be getting anymore, since I don't expect Blinx: The Time Sweeper to make a comeback.
It’s the weirdest timeline lol
